Daniel Nakamura
Co-founder

Daniel is co-founder of Let’s Play America and avid photographer.

Daniel loves to document kids in action and promotes play through his photography. He lives in Maryland, with his wife, Erin and daughters, Emily and Natalie.

Rebecca Horrace
Executive Assistant

Rebecca has been involved in children’s education, from brick-and-mortar classrooms to running a homeschool cooperative program, and even founding and leading a 4-H club for military youth. She is an educational expert in the areas of child development, child-centered learning, and most importantly–children’s play!

Peace Kish
Social Media Specialist

Peace is a first generation Nigerian American with experience assisting local institutions in developing and marketing various media content. Peace has experience providing therapeutic interventions for children with autism, coordinating with high school students, and aiding older adults in health and wellness. 

Ciang Dim
UMD Intern
2024~

Ciang is currently a UMD student intern with Let’s Play America, where she assists in organizing engaging events that promote the significance of play within the community. She also contributes to website design and development. This experience with Let’s Play America is helping Ciang to understand the positive impact of play on individuals of all ages and its importance in fostering community connection.

Shawntay Brown
UMD Intern
2024~

Shawntay is an intern for Let’s Play America and attends UMD. She has participated in multiple in person events where she promotes play in community. Shawntay has also made connections within people in the community from those events which has inspired her to promote play in her own community.

Jack Montgomery
School Intern

Jack was involved with Let’s Play America as an intern during his 12th-grade school year. He gained experience in marketing, planning and participating in events, and designing/building our website. Jack learned the importance of play in the community and brought a younger perspective to our organization.
Michael Lioe
School Intern

Michael was an intern for Let’s Play America during his senior year. Not only did he learn the importance of play in our community, but he also realized the impact play has for all individuals of every age. Michael also refined his skills with the planning of events, worked on website design/building, along with his people skills.
